Open Source EA

I have decided to initiate a project dealing with open source enterprise architecture (#OSEA on twitter) since I find the concept of having your architecture exposed to various stakeholders outside the boundaries of the enterprise interesting. I have found some literature on managing IT architecture across several different organizations, but it doesn’t deal with the most important aspect of enterprise architecture which is the social aspect.

The focus of the first part of the project is to conduct a literature survey, that will be crystalized into a paper that explores the potentialities of Open Source EA.

I have dedicated the blog OpenSourceEA.com for the project and if you’re interested in the further development of the OSEA project you can gain further information there.

Ideas on Systems Thinking & Management Cybernetics

I have an idea on publishing some of my notes on systems thinking and management cybernetics on EnterprisePhD.com . It will take a while but I am sure they will be good. Oddly, this reminds me that I should start reading “The Fifth Discipline” by Peter Senge.

Furthermore, I plan to publish yet another book review. This time I will review the book “The CIO Edge: 7 Leadership Skulls You Need To Drive Results” by Waller et al.

Perhaps I should update my compendium on Enterprise Architecture

I have spend a bit of my time on reading old blog posts on my blog today and I have come across one of the note collections that I have published on the blog, and I think I should update the compendium with the latest knowledge, that I have collected on the matter.

The original compendium is back from the days where I attended the course T8 Enterprise Architecture at the IT University of Copenhagen.

However I am a bit busy in the moment so it would have to wait for a time, but I am sure, that I will begin with the project sometime in 2011 / 2012.

Helping Your Friends with Their Master Theses

I have been rather busy lately with helping friends with their various different master thesises. Sometimes a review can take longer than writing the actual thing, or rather I am ready to sign a petition saying that.

So far I have helped four of my friends with their various theses and the topics varies from philosophy & ontology of social media, Project Management Processes from and Holistic Management point of view, and Technology Platforms in the Construction Industry (e-Business).

Payback: Reaping the Rewards of Innovation

I consider the book rather interesting and as such I thought that the book deserved a written review. The written review deals with how the book introduces the concept of architecture to innovation. I plan to publish the review on Tuesday.

The review will be published on EnterpriseBooks.net .

Writing on a Blog Post

I am currently writing on a blog post dealing with what Enterprise Architecture is all about and I plan to publish it on CoherencyArchitect.com.

Coherency Architect is my preferred blog that I use to upload various papers, drafts and ideas that I write about Enterprise Architecture, Management Cybernetics and Systems Thinking. I look forward to tell you all about what the blog post will be dealing with in the long run. I plan to publish the blog post within 14 days.

Besides that I am working with a definition of the processes within the ATOM-framework and as such I plan to publish my ideas on that within a week or so.

What is IT Security?

Even though the IT University of Copenhagen provides courses in IT security, the institution wasn’t able to protect its core administrative systems, and as such this led to a total “meltdown” this weekend. Apparently a group of “Chinese Hackers” attacked the IT – systems and the core systems has been down as a result of that. It has taken almost a week before the webmail was re-opened, likewise is it first now at this moment that “my ITU”, the portal that we the students are forced to make use of,  have been re-opened.

Of some reason I am not surprised that the IT University (of all places) didn’t have a clue on how to deal with IT security or how to act according to a contingency plan.

The Editorial Process

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I’ve been writing a lot on my master thesis lately and as such I am about to reach the editorial process. I have said it before and I will say it again. The most difficult thing to do (at least for me) is the editorial process. I look forward to face the challenge of editing my master thesis, but in the same time I am sure that I will have to allocate a lot of time and resources to it. Remember that you can find more information on my master thesis at the website www.producibility.org .

Nonetheless I will wish you all a nice day and I hope to see you all very soon.
